The City should freeze benefits levels earned to this point and then reduce pension benefits for service credit earned thereafter. These guys have given themselves the best pension benefit levels available, which can pay up 80% of the employees pre-retirement salary. This, in comparison to the cries we hear about teacher's pensions that pay at most 33% of their pre-retirement salary. Further, the NS salaries paid are not low. So, while we want the NS leaders to be responsible in funding these benefits, we also need them to not give away our money at ridiculous levels on the backs of the property owners.
